server closed connection, reason 60 / 600
2008-07-09
Some people actually experience problems with connecting on racenet servers. Getting kicked with reason 60 or 600.
As far is I know it's a problem caused of the ingame linkage, which protects registered nicknames from beeing used by others.
Normally the server should notify you about that. I'm going to check what's going on there.
But well, the soloution of your problems should be this page: Ingame Linkage.

Hi warsowians !

Wanna some good challenge ? Well, Zolex just contacted me to give me this info which could make your day : new RaceAthon is gonna start next thursday, July 26th 2007, at 19.00 UTC.
As usual, it will run during 3 days, exclusive race maps have been done by Slipknot, Whiteybrown and Zolex. As usual, maps will be released each day along the contest, so people will have 24 hours to send their best demo.
More info on the official site, in our forum and on IRC : #RACEATHON@QuakeNet.
All Warsow veterans remember, RaceAthon #1 and 2 were a very nice success. And for sure we didn't forget too "The K0li0 Menace", that excellent movie from SNP, which was showing some incredible runs taken from RaceAthon #1 (in case you missed it, download and stream available at own3d).

Thanks for your input, RaceAthon crew, GLHF to you and to all competitors =)

CDC Lan Followup
ETR | 17/07/2007 @ 12:58 | comments (8)

The prizemoney for the different games have been made public on crossfire.nu. War§ow's Qcup will have 1.000 Euros of prizemoney to distribute amongst the winners. Also, the 8 slots will have 4 direct invites, and 4 more through online qualifiers. More details are to follow soon, but I urge anyone to sign up for the compo if you can make it! The signups are opened till August 12th, and don't forget the entrance fee will be 50Euros. The signuplist so far is quite impressive, sporting names such as http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/gb.png BRUNS, http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/nl.png AgamemnonZ, http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/pl.png V!ct!M and http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/de.png BoBel.

Ofcourse next to the War§ow Qcup, there will be alot of War§owians present to take this oppurtunity to have a War§ow meeting, with a weekend of (hopefully) sun, beers and reallife #warsow ranting. To make this geek-event even more special, we have decided to run a Tshirt-design contest! The winning design will be integrated into the War§ow Shop, which has recently added a couple of designs, as well as dropped the prices a bit (the "profit" margin on the products are smaller now). Make sure your design meets the Comboutique guidelines. The contest will end at August 1st! GL War§owians! CU@LAN

Warsow Cashprize LAN @ Netherlands
ETR | 11/07/2007 @ 06:15 | comments (15)

http://www.warsow.net/media/cdc3banner.jpg

Crossfire.nu's devotii Challenge 3 (cdc3) will be hosting a Warsow 1v1 Competition, from 21st of september till 23rd (friday through sunday) in WZZRD Gamecafe in http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/nl.png Enschede, the Netherlands. Backed up and sponsored by Qpad, the Warsow 1v1 Competition will offer cashprizes (prizes to be announced), making this the first official European Warsow LAN offering cashprizes.

Next to the Warsow Qcup, cdc3 will feature ET, ETQW, Q3 CPM and CoD2 competitions. The Warsow Qcup will be adminned by http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/nl.png ETR. The competition will most likely be an invitational one (preliminary online signups), but more definite details will follow soon (such as the prizemoney and the amount of slots).

This event will be a great oppurtunity for a Warsow meeting, and in the forums a couple of familiair names have already semi-confirmed their presence, such as http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/gb.png nVc, http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/gb.png BRUNS http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/nl.png h1o, http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/nl.png A_Spec, http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/de.png pille, and http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/at.png mikey. It would be a great event to get the scene together, be sure I am looking forward to welcoming you all to the first European big Warsow event! I'd like to thank TosspoT (crossfire.nu, known for his article on GGL) and Qpad (<3 JP) for their faith in Warsow, and for giving the oppurtunity for this game to display it's potential for the first time in a professional context! (Hey, Warsow.nl LAN was fun, but let's get down to bizznizz! >:D)!

Read more at crossfire.nu and ESReality. And make sure you keep track of the Warsow.net Frontpage for a followup post with more details! CU@LAN!

Warsow 0.31 out !§!§§
SoLomoNK | 29/06/2007 @ 22:11 | comments (33)

*edited*
(v) Yeehaa ! Here it is Warsow 0.31 is out !

For your information, this new version not only brings many fixes of various bugs spotted in 0.3, but features too some good new stuff. Here's few items randomly picked in the changelog :
- Added BattlEye Anti-Cheat Engine, supporting both Windows and Linux (special huge thanks to Sable for his work)
- Added Team auto-balance
- Added possibility to save stats to a file after match has been finished
- Made Riotgun's shot denser, Plasmagun damage upped slightly, EB damage NOT increased (I'm very sorry for the mistake), RL splash radius increased/min damage decreased
- Made bots reaction time slower
- Changed CA scoreboard damage-based
- Fixed missing spawn sounds
- Fixed Win32 couldn't rename downloaded pk3 files
- Fixed fatal error on a configstring overflow
- Wdm11 remixed, with brand new textures and theme, and slightly changed other maps
- etc. You'll find final 0.31 changelog here

As you can see, Warsow 0.31 is supposed to be a more solid, more polished, more stable, more functional 0.3. As was 0.21 to 0.2. And therefore, I hope this new version will get same success as 0.21. But final verdict is in your hands, warsowians. Now, I only have to give once again my biggest thanks to my beloved team for their hard work, and my biggest thanks to all of you warsowians, for your great support.

Ok, stop babbling, here are all links in the general forum. As usual all mirror offers will be great help =)

GLHF !

Esports Stadium Series 2007 Announced!
ETR | 26/06/2007 @ 14:36 | comments (9)

http://www.warsow.net/forum/flags/jp.png Polygon announced a new competition in the Japanese Warsow scene! Esports Stadium, known for their previous events with Warsow (for example BIGLAN5), have now come up with a new format for competition. Dubbed the E-sports Stadium 2007 Series, E-Sports Stadium will host 3 seperate events in Tokyo, with among others (Halo 2 and Warcraft 3) a Warsow competition. The first stage will be kicking off on august 4th and 5th, the second being announced in fall, and the final stage being held in the winter. Each of these stages will host a Warsow competition, and backed up by sponsors, E-Sports Stadium will be able to offer cash and hardware prizes!

For Warsow, the format for the competition will be announced soon (there is still discussion going on with the Japanese Warsow community, to see what competition would suit best). Once again big thanks to Esports Stadium for keeping up their support for Warsow! Thanks for everyone involved with the organisation of the events, and be sure to keep us updated with the events! Have fun and good luck, Japanese warsowians!
